Joshua Lampman, born on September 30th, 1982 has been active in electronic music since the late 90s. After having attend his first DJ event, he saw DJ Venom scratching with his elbows. The next day, having saved up his lunch money for years, brought $500 worth of quarters to his local music store and bought his first pair of turntables.

Sample-based Plunderphonics music and turntabilism have been the two biggest influences on FitG's sound. Artists like The Avalanches, Moby, Coldcut, and The Prodigy's mix album “The Dirtchamber Sessions” all wove a tapestry of sound from different artist and times. This sound collage was both futuristic and vintage at the same time. FitG learned to DJ "pre-digital". Vinyl records still hold a special place - “Record digging” is something that would later inform his Neo-Vintage appreciation.

In 2013, attending a NYC dance music festival, FitG discovered Electroswing almost by accident. Sporting his now signature bow tie and curled mustache combo, another dancer said he “most love Electroswing!” FitG went home and looked into this genre still in it's infancy. It combined Plunderphonics, house, techno and all the elements that have molded FitG. It was the perfect amalgam of everything he'd been inspired by – since that day he's dedicated himself to that sound.

Shortly after FitG founded The Speakeasy Sessions in NYC with the goal of spreading Electroswing to as many people as possible. By combining ravers with swing dance aficionados, vintage burlesque, live jazz bands and plenty of hooch, FitG went about creating a music scene. Part Steampunk, Rave, high-class night-club and part Gatsby, Electroswing offers a scene that is as mixed as the sounds they dance to.
